Solidarity For The Patients Of Cancer

Celebrating World Cancer Day on February 4th, residents of Banda Aceh and surrounding areas staged a haircut to plopal at Blang Padang Square, Banda Aceh, Sunday (4/2) morning.

Action held by the Indonesian Cancer Foundation (YKI) Branch of Aceh Province with some founders of shelters that accommodate children of cancer in Aceh, followed by various communities in Aceh, such as Community Care Children Cancer, motor community, and Steemit Aceh, as a form of support and solidarity to all cancer patients.

In addition, the event also presents some children with cancer in Aceh who are accommodated in 'Rumah Kita'.

Founder of Our Home Nurjannah Husen (48), said the action is a form of solidarity and to support cancer patients that they are not alone.

"Not having hair is actually not their choice, but because of the effects after undergoing chemotherapy, so we want to entertain that they are not alone, we want to feel what they feel," Nurjannah said at the site.

In addition to joint plots, the event was also filled with several other activities and entertainment such as baby shark gymnastics, hearing fairy tales, coloring, blood donation, and eye screening in children. The entertainment show, indirectly has provoked the joy of 12 cancer patients who were present there wearing yellow hats and clothes.

Meanwhile, a volunteer from the motorcycle community named Amrizal, a resident of Samahani, Aceh Besar said he came to Banda Aceh just to attend the event. In fact he also has to give up his hair shaved to plontos as a form of support.

"Pity and I want to encourage younger brothers and sisters, they need the spirit of life and we have to support them," he said.
