Australia/Aboriginal Painting

So a while ago July 2017 i was asked a favour from my partner’s mother to paint a painting Australian and Aboriginal Inspired canvas. I agreed to this as its been since highschool when i last held an art brush.

Little did i know she expected me to paint 1mtre (4x4) canvas in only 4days. This was actually a painting competition held by her work at Sydney Swissotel, and winning paint canvas gets a free room for a night! I didnt care anything for the room just wanted to paint really, and it gets placed at the entry reception area.

Day 1

I knew this was going to take more than a day to finish, so with the help of my dad and partner we got our Da Vinci Cap on and started!!

Day 2

You can now see a few things in progress, what do you see? I think ive decided to add atleast more than 8 Australian/Aboriginal Icons in this painting! We first started with the Aboriginal Flag as the background, and the National Gold Wattle Flower with the sun around, ontop is the Operah House, and on the bottom we have the Australian waters with turtles and barramndi fish.

We finally finished the art! Took 3 days and a half! As you can see ive also added the Australian Stars, the Koala(australia’s bear) in the gumtree, cockatoo, the Centrepoint Tower which is the tallest landmark, snakes, boomerangs, kangaroos and emus. What do you think? 😀

Unfortunately we didnt win, but is hung in one of the rooms at Swissotel. Although the effort we had heaps or fun for such a challenge! My point of showing people this artwork is that instead of spending money buying the luxlife money can buy why dont you take a challenge today! Life is always a challenge no matter big or small!
