Season of lights

with the tag line "Let's light a life" was a charity event organized in Dell for all Dell employees in Bangalore, India.
Time to get the creative best out they said.
Diwali is a Hindu festival of lights celebrated every year. We light decorated lamps made of clay, also called Diyas.

This event was organized during the month of October 2017. All the Dell employees in Bangalore was free to participate in this event. The idea was to paint Diyas or lamps(pairs) in the most beautiful and creative way possible and submit it to a reviewing team in Dell, who will then give away the Diyas to various NGO's around India(Non profit organization).
The screening of Diyas was done to make sure, when the NGO sell these Diyas in open market, it will fetch them enough money for their cause.

It was fantastic to see the worlds biggest private technological company take such initiative and was glad to be a part of it. Hundreds and Thousands of Diyas was painted and submitted by Employees of Dell for this cause from Bangalore alone. My team of 15 members submitted close to 100 Diyas for the event. We extended our working hours to complete the painting and submit the Diyas on time. All for a good cause. The money raised will be used to fund the education, health and various other needs for kids and elderly.

The following are few pictures we clicked during the events.

When we buy Clay Lamps it costs us about $0.30 each.

The hours of work we put into each lamp was worth it. The lamps would easily sell in the open market for $3-$5 each and more if they are sold in pairs.

Although we are not the greatest at painting nor are we artists, we tried our best to make Diyas look as beautiful and neat as we can.
