The driving force of modern civilization
Crude oil or crude oil is not suitable for direct use in nature. Oil refining is the process of converting this thick black liquid extracted from the ground into usable fuel and by-products. This process is of immense importance to meet the energy needs of the modern world and keep the wheels of industrialization moving.
Crude oil is processed in several steps in an oil refinery. This is the main step where the oil is heated in a huge column. Gasoline, kerosene and diesel are separated according to the difference in boiling points. Heavy molecules are broken down and converted into light and high-value fuels. The oil is made environmentally friendly and pure by removing sulfur or other harmful elements.
As a result of refining, we get daily used petrol, diesel, jet fuel, LPG and lubricating oil. In addition, important raw materials such as plastic, fertilizer and asphalt are made from its by-products.
