My first experience with natural calamity!!! Wishing to be the Last also!!

in #life6 years ago (edited)

I'm so proud of being a Malayali. As we all know that Kerala: 'Gods Own Country'. Yes it is..
You know: Kerala, where the trees, rivers, ponds, and streams flourished.Grassy sprawling spots. The tiny winds that push up the mind. The landscape that is beautifully made by God's hands is amazing. When we see some places we will think about how incredible creation is. My Kerala is really beautiful.
The land where Hindus, Christians and Muslims lived together. My Kerala is with joy and satisfaction with one another and unity.

But...

That day, the sky become black, the rain with the windstorm came down heavily on the earth. It disturbed the calm nature and the nature began to show its naughtiness. Situation worsens as incessant rains continue. The heavy filled the reservoirs of the dams to full capacity.

The shutters of 35 of the 39 dams in Kerala, including the 123-year-old Mullaperiyar Dam, have been opened for the first time in history.

Flooded!!!!

We lost everything. Everywhere is filled with water. All are used to stay the roof top of houses. Helicopters and fishermen came to help us.
We are surrounded by water. But there is no water for drinking. We have money but we cant buy anything to eat.
We lost our relatives. We lost all our valuable tings. We prayed to get our family back. We prayed to get a glass of water to dring, a piece of bread to eat.
I have a big house I have lakh in my account but I was eagerly waiting for some helicopters for a piece of bread. This is life.
I understood one thing that never waste a drop of water and bit of food. It is precious than money and power.

But the we Malayalees survived it together. Special thanks to Indian Army, fishermen and local people who served the people who are in critacal situation and relief camps.

As per the goverment flood claimed 483 lives, there were 14.50 lakh people in more than 3,000 relief camps, A total of 57,000 hectares of agriculture crops have been destroyed and an estimated value of destruction is 20000 crore.

At last we returned from relief camp to our own home...but everything were lost.. Now we kerala start the mission to bring us back...Thanks for the all people who supported us and prayed for us. Many organization and countries started to support us using #supportkerala
