How Did You Start Your Day?

How did you start your day? If this is the first day of your new job, your new relationship, or your new life, your start of the day may be one of those particularly critical events in your life. It's one of those days when you're not really sure what to do and how to do it. This may be due to many things such as: having forgotten your key ingredient for your success; having a lot of things to sort out; having a lot of energy left over from a day full of work; or even being very tired.


Whatever the cause, the answer to your question "how did you start your day?" is simple. You must get moving! Let's jump right into my answer...

So you've asked yourself, "How did you start your day?" My answer to you will certainly surprise you. I didn't start my day yesterday. I was very satisfied with myself and I wanted to do the same thing tomorrow. It took a little time to convince myself to get up and take action, but once I did I began to see changes in my life.

The next question you may be asking is, "What did you focus on to get the results you wanted?" You know you've been living a lie if you tell yourself you don't have to do anything. And I hate to tell you this, but your actions are only as good as your intentions. That means you must be convinced and believe that you can and will succeed!

This is probably the hardest part for most people. They simply don't believe they can do it. It's a big mistake to get convinced right then and there that you're going to accomplish these great things. But don't let yourself get discouraged!

Once you start to believe you can and will get things done, you'll find yourself getting more done. The whole point of having goals is to set short term goals, and long term goals. If you set yourself up with nothing but a vague idea of what you want to do and nothing to shoot for, you won't accomplish very much. But when you get specific with your end goal(s), even small steps will seem like huge leaps. So, the next time you ask the question, "how did you start your day?"

You'll know you're on track when you see the difference each day. Even a short period (a few minutes or an hour) can make huge differences in your productivity. And once you get into the flow and really start to feel successful, you'll find yourself putting even more effort into it. You'll find yourself getting out of bed each morning feeling happier and more focused than you've felt in years.


So, the next time you ask yourself, "How did you start your day?" remember the steps you took today and commit to taking action in spite of everything. When you think back on that session of thinking, I'm sure you'll agree that you started your day on the right foot and have steadily become more successful! So keep doing that and before you know it, you'll reach your goals and become the person on the receiving end of one of those great personal or professional accomplishments. The confidence you'll gain will lead to even more success and you'll wonder how you ever got by without it!
