In my workplace in Europe I consistently see a ratio of 10 men : 1 woman in software devlopment. Most women I see work in Quality Assurance. However when I look at Offices in India they have a totally different culture. There many women work as devs or study computer science. I think western culture just puts the wrong emphasis and paints this picture of nerds and computer freaks.
