That time of morning is the gateway time for the spirit really to come to us. Usually it is when we are in a dream state, but you were awake so she may have been confused. And that's why she didn't speak to you. The color purple was definitely a sign for you to help you recognize who she was. She is most likely a relative or a friend who as crossed over and has a message for you.
interesting.... All of it is so fascinating.
I believe everyone has the ability to see spirits, however most people just dismiss it. Some people are more sensitive to sounds or smells, others can see colors. You seem to be very visual and open to visions! That's pretty cool!
