The Man Who Cleans the Streets to Build a Dream: A Life for $200 a Month in Iraq
Hello Steemit Community,
My name is a 28-year-old young man from Iraq. Today, I am not just writing words; I am opening my heart to share the details of a life that many pass by without noticing.
My Profession which I am Proud of.. and My Bitter Reality
I work as a "sanitation worker" (cleaner) on the streets of Iraq. Every day, before the sun rises, I am there, collecting what others leave behind to keep the face of my city clean. Honest work is not a shame; it is a medal of honor I wear on my chest, but behind this medal is a story of a daily struggle that never ends.
The Equation of Survival: Only $200
In a country with so much wealth, I earn a monthly salary of only $200. This amount might seem small to some, but for me, it is the budget for an entire life. It must cover food, water, and basic necessities. In Iraq, we sometimes feel that the system forgets the working class, leaving us to face the high cost of living with bare chests.
Why am I here on Steemit?
I didn't join this platform just to complain, but because I have a dream that is simple yet big at the same time: To have my own home. My dream is to own four walls that protect me and make me feel safe, away from the constant worry of rent and instability.
I have come to this global community to share my journey and the details of my struggle. I believe that your support (through Upvotes and comments) can be the bridge that connects my difficult reality to my dream of building a stable future.
A Message to My Country.. and to You
It hurts me that my homeland does not give me what I deserve, but I refuse to give up. I will continue to clean the streets with my hands during the day, and build my future with you here at night through my words.
Thank you to everyone who reads, and thank you to every hand that reaches out with support to change the life of a person seeking an honest living.
