Kathin ceremony in Thailand
Kathin is one of the great religious ceremonies in Thailand that we normally do at the end of Buddhist Lent.
In the Kathin ceremony, we especially present yellow robes to monks in the temples.
Apart from yellow robes, we also make merit by giving the temples some money. By doing this, we use banknotes (money) for the decorations on the things that we call “money tree”.
The “money trees” have various styles and shapes. They are creative and look wonderful.
We also celebrate the Kathin ceremony with beautiful Thai dance.
There are many people gathering at the temples for the Kathin ceremony.
Part of the money the temple receives will be paid in building a new Viharn…
We believe that we will be happy and prosperous in life after participating in the Kathin ceremony.
