Trials and tribulations of the King 2018!!!

in #lifegoals7 years ago

Y'all ready? I'm going to give you my goals for the next 2 months of 2018!

Not that I'm expecting anybody to read this, but it will give me boners if you do ;-)

So May is upon us. I have been training hard for my Triathlon coming up in just over a months time, I have had to endure vehicle malfunctions, bad depressing weather, poor life choices and my dogs farts. I have so many events happening in the next 2 month that require me to focus, but with so many distractions happening I just don't know what I am doing. Like the headless chicken I just flutter around with little effect on the world and not helping my situation. So first things first, I have to figure out what I'm doing and to formulate a plan on how to survive. I won't spoil you with the details, just the headlines.

The Bristol 10k - May 15th

A local run that changed my life

Shindig Festival - May 25th

I need to get the Dale the Horsebox in a road worthy condition in time for this

SWYD Sprint Triathlon - June 3rd

My second triathlon ever, doing it with friends and includes a sea swim in the cold welsh waters

15,000ft Skydive - June 9th

First tandem skydive (life goal is to do it solo)

Forest of Dean Olympic Triathlon - June 17th

This years triathlon goal!!!!

Bikefest XC MTB race - June 30th

6 Hour riding of a 10k loop as many times as possible. Fucking crazy!

So this is me pretty much booked up for the next 2 months of my life. The horsebox as it stands is the biggest challenge. It is currently not road legal, waterproof, or safe. I have just over 3 weeks to rectify this, and the British spring-time weather is not being very kind towards my efforts. I am needing to get up at 6:30 in the morning in order to train, leaving the evenings for the horsebox and I am now starting to refuse alcohol!!! Life is pain...

Awesome goals mate. Great work sharing them, always means we're more likely to stick to them. I did an Ironman in Wales and yep, the water is faaarking cold and the hills, well hilly. Best of luck, giving you a follow, lets see your progress.

Thanks man. I also wish to do an Ironman next year, the Tenby one does seem particularly challenging. Just checked out your Muay Thai videos, so cool for you to take on that journey. Once I get through a couple of goals I wish to get into a striking sport, I want to do a scheduled fight in a ring at some point in my life. Win / lose / draw it still means you're winning at life. Following you back!

That's exactly the one I did, Tenby, man it was brutal. But boy was it worth it, 9 months of training for a long day of exertion.. just like having a baby I say, haha. Muay Thai was a grande adventure and one I did at the perfect time in my life when I was bored working in the city of london and needed a new challenge. By the time I got my fight I'd broken my ribs and been battered in training and man I totally loved every minute of it. Even learning the Dance beforehand was fun. 5am running past buffalo and old men walking their cattle. As you say I just wanted to test myself in the ring get the thumbs up from my coach. But to win that topped it off. Honestly some of the best months of my life was in Thailand training and fighting Muay Thai. If you have the mindset like that of a triathlete and you want to test yourself and not afraid of sucking before you get good then you'll appreciate it and enjoy it as well mate.
