Paradoxes of criticism

in #literature9 years ago (edited)

Many authors do not welcome criticism, and in vain. Any text, if it claims a style slightly more advanced from a telegraphic, implies a search among readers for an identity. And if the text is really artistic, then there is also an existential meaning.
Criticism allows the author to see a new, second reading, avoiding direct identification.
Criticism helps the reader: it provokes a free judgment, without imposing one's own reading.
The reader and the critic are not identical. And when the critic takes the reader into a parallel artistic text, this speaks first of all of the imperfections of the author.
