Public Transport from Heathrow to London Central. Which one is the cheapest?
In my previous post, I had written on London Airport and today will only focus on the transportation of London's largest and busiest airport which is Heathrow Airport.
There are many transport modes from Heathrow to London City Centre such as tube/underground, Heathrow Express/Connect, Black Taxi Cab and bus. I personally had experience on riding tube, Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect.
Obviously this yellow signboard already indicate three public transports
Tube/Underground
Obviously, the cheapest is tube and underground. The tube Piccadilly Line (Dark Blue Colour) providing service via Heathrow Terminal to London Centre with just six pounds. Journey time around 50 -70 minutes. It always my first choice as normally I only have one big plus 2 small luggage then do not worry about the space of the tube as the luggage allowance still fine between the seats and the doors. Since you depart at the start of the Piccadilly line then should be no issue to get the convenient seat. However, it may stressful to travel during peak hours as forsee crowded inside the tube.
Please note that the Piccadilly Line covers some important stations such as Earl's Court, South Kensington, Knightsbridge, Green Park, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Russell Square, King's Cross St Pancras, Arsenal and etc. If your distance hotel is within these stations then should be fine if not then you need to study on how to interchange to other lines.
Heathrow Connect
Another affordable option is Heathrow Connect which is appreciably cheaper than Heathrow Express, furthermore the journey time to Paddington Station just around half an hour with the price just £10.30 one way. It is not a direct train as will stop in between of Hayes & Harlington, Southall, Hanwell, West Ealing and Ealing Broadway stations. The frequency of the train will be an issue with just operate every 30 minutes and even worse for Sunday with decrease the frequency to one hour per train.
Heathrow Express
You definitely will find more relaxing, stress-free, hassle-free, less crowded inside Heathrow Express. However, you really can't enjoy much as the journey just take 15 minutes directly to Paddington Station. Even you have plenty of suitcases or big luggage, it won't be an issue as this non-stop express train has a dedicate area to put your luggage. If budget, not an issue then "use the money to buy time" and take this quickest way from Paddington to Heathrow Airport.

Others
I do not have experience for others transport such as bus or cab from Heathrow to London central. I will try bus for my next trip as can enjoy the wonderful scenery along the way to London Victoria Coach again. If you book bus in advance, you might cheapest fare for 5 pounds.
