Living in London: Diary #10
Hi guys!
Here's a little update about what's been happening in my world. I have been struggling trying to get ahead on my illustration gig, though I think today I got a better hang of it.
Yesterday I got the news I have been shortlisted for designing a mural at the EMA's for MTV, along with 20 other artists. Exciting! I am working on a new design with a great local musician and I hope to finish it over this weekend.
I was fortunate enough to have been invited to a J Cole concert at the O2. The O2 is such a spaced out place and J Cole is like the preacher of the common mans dream, man!
I had my first seminar today, it's called 'Black Thought'. I enjoyed some of it. I learnt about the Black Manifesto by Rasheed Araeen, about his work and contemporaries.
Oh, I have been 'vlogged' and had to share my opinion on Eminem's Trump bash video. You can watch it in the youtube link here, I got a little carried away with it haha.
Thanks for reading. I hope all is well with you. Lots of love and kisses from London. X Sam
Here are some snaps:
I enjoyed reading your blog. Cool vlog appearance. Didn't new about the Eminem freestyle. Went to watch it and honestly I liked it. Took me a moment because I can totally relate to what you said. Totally! I do totally agree about what you say about this blame gaming. This is why I stopped reading anything about Trump because I got tyred of. But I like hte Eminem Freestyle. It's a witness of our time and the absence of music fills it with power. I had to post it on my blog becaus it's an artefact of our time
Enjoy London. I love this city!
Peace!
