My diary: Living in London #6
Hi guys!
I had an exciting week as I felt like I was finally making some progress in some of the projects I had started last week. I am doing three projects - a podcast, a drawing exploration and a communal project.
The Woodlands Claxtons Laurels blockparty
The idea is to organise a lunch in the garden with residents of the three buildings on Sunday. So far I have made a flyer and spoken to a few neighbours. Myself and my flatmate Julia have heard some great, moving and funny stories from residents about living here as we were inviting them. I am looking forward for this event to actually crystallise: the weather decides whether it will happen or not. I am a bit afraid to look at the weatherforecast.
Drawings
Last week I ordered a few stickers from instantprint.co.uk and they came out really well! I am now just handing them out to friends, though I will think about the idea a bit more next week.
I had been thinking about how to solve my drawing problem with having objects floating around and being rather undefined. I looked at work of Kristen Liu Wong and I feel like she uses an inclosed room to solve perspective issues. So here's a room (from a cafe called Diddy's). I feel great for taking that step!
I have been working on my podcast and a few people are involved. I am probably going to work on it more next week.
I have so many ideas and so much time in a great city, I feel like I am in paradise! On Monday, school finally starts, I wonder what it's like. Here are some photos and selfies of the last few days.
Nice update again :)
