Lungi made from weavers of some districts, including greater Pabna of Bangladesh, have spread to the world market through the fame and reputation of the country. Exporting about two crore pieces of lungis in 25 countries of the world are being exported every year. The sector has earned about Tk 1,220 crore annually, said the concerned businessmen.

Traders are exporting lunches to 25 countries of the world including Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Dubai, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Indonesia, Canada, England and America. Bengalis living in these countries are basically the buyers of these lungi buyers. Many people, including Indonesians, also buy Bangladeshi lungis by hobbies.

The weavers said, once the name-merchandise sold out, the lungi is now getting acquainted with its own brand. Narsingdi Helal and Brothers started the first lungi branding in the country. In the market, 125 brands of Sonar Bangla Textile, Dissent, Unique, Standard, Amanat Shah, Rohitpuri, Smart, Amar, Pakiza, ATM, Bukhari, Fazr Ali, Searches, JM, Sky, West, Rangdhanu are being sold in the market. 80/80, 62/80, 62/62, 40/62, 40/40 Count yarn made of these lungis. Each piece of lungi is sold from 350 rupees to 7000 rupees per value.
