My entry for the 🐜 7 DAYS MACRO-PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST 3 🐜 - Hoverfly
One of the very first successful macroshots I had was of a hoverfly. Since then I made many more and keep on. Of course it also raised my curiosity about the bugs and to find out what they are, how they influence our lives.
Hoverflies as the name suggests can be seen hovering above the plants. They are good pollunators and considered to be second important after the bees. Another interesting fact is that they are attracted by white and yellow flowers. No wonder I see them mostly above yellow dandelions.
Hoverflies resemble wasps or bees but they do not sting.
Altogether they play important role in our big world.
