Pemeriksaan oli mesin bertujuan untuk menentukan apakah oli masih pantas di pakai atau tidak. Jika oli yang di gunakan sudah kotor, encer, atau kurang dari batas yang di di izinkan, maka komponen mesin akan cepat rusak.
