Safety First in the Laboratory: How We Protect Ourselves and Your Samples
Hello Steemit community!
As I wait for my Achievement 3 verification, I wanted to share a behind-the-scenes look at my workplace. In a diagnostic laboratory, safety is our top priority—not just for us, but for the accuracy of your medical reports.
Every day, we handle various biological samples. To ensure everything stays sterile and safe, we follow strict protocols:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): You’ll always see me in my white lab coat, gloves, and sometimes a mask. This prevents any cross-contamination.
Sterilization: We constantly disinfect our working stations and tools to ensure that no external bacteria interfere with the test results.
Sample Management: Each tube is carefully labeled and tracked. Accuracy starts the moment we receive the sample.
Waste Disposal: Medical waste is hazardous, so we follow a specific color-coded disposal system to keep the environment safe.
Working in a lab requires a lot of discipline. It’s not just about running machines; it’s about maintaining a safe and clean environment to give you the most reliable health data.
I’m proud to be a Medical Technologist, ensuring that your health is in safe hands!
