Children's fear of the dreaded vaccinations is a problem that has been gripping parents and doctors all over the world for years, but with the evolution of technology there are those who seem to have found the ideal solution to turn a moment of terror into fun.
This is the case of the Brazilian laboratory Hermes Pardini, which with the support of the company Lobo has developed a virtual reality application that allows you to turn the vaccination process into an adventure / game to experience first hand: VR Vaccine.

How does it work? Simple. In VR Vaccine, the child becomes the protagonist of the adventure, a hero who must receive a special shield to protect himself from the threats of fearsome monsters. Inside the Hermes Pardini workshops in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the nurses are equipped with a virtual reality viewer and a smartphone to be entrusted to the child, who will be immediately projected into the adventure in a world that he can explore by simply rotating his head.
With a second smartphone, the nurse can follow in real time the "deeds" of the child and replicate what happens on the screen, transforming a process theoretically "dramatic and painful" in a game that, thanks to the support and phrases of your virtual alter ego, can entertain and at the same time appease the fears of the child, allowing the nurse to better complete the vaccination without creating any discomfort in the patient.
Needless to say, such a method has found a wide response both from parents and especially from the protagonists, those same children who, catapulting into a fantasy world thanks to the potential of virtual reality, can best face their fears and turn into a game a traumatic moment.
