Hey my fellow MMA junkies!

In today's post I'd like to talk about the UFC Sacramento card that ended less than a few hours ago. It was a great card with some cool fights and I'll try my best to recap some of the biggest moments of the night. The card was headlined by Germaine de Randamie and Aspen Ladd, Urijah Faber and Ricky Simon as the co-main and a bunch of young talent on the undercard. Now lets jump right into it!

Mirsad Bektić vs Josh Emmett - Featherweight Bout

This fight was booked two times already but never came together until now, Mirsad Bektić (13-2) was on a killing spree for the big majority of his career but was never a consistent fighter fighting only twice a year since 2013. He suffered a tough loss in the process by the hands of Derren Elkins in a fight he was winning back in UFC 209 but came back strong and was on a 3 fight winning streak leading up to Josh Emmet (15-2) fight. Josh is known as one of the heavy hitters in the division, with some of the most brutal knockouts you'll ever see in his arsenal. Emmet combined a 2 fight winning streak when he faced Jeremy Stephens at UFC on Fox 28, Jeremy knocked out Emmet and sent him to rehab for more than a year. This was Emmets second fight since then.

Speed And Power

Its no secret that both guys have the skills to finish each other but Emmet is in my opinion naturally more gifted when it comes to pure speed and power. The fight started as a typical kickboxing matchup with nobody attempting for a takedown. It was at 1:03 of the first round when Emmet rocked Bektić and finish him on the ground with some heavy bombs.

Urijah Faber vs Ricky Simon - Bantamweight bout

I've made a post about Urijah Faber's comeback against Ricky Simon and what I think about them both. So I won't go into too much history of these two. Oldschool VS Newschool is probably the best way to describe this.

We have seen a few legends come back in recent times most of them came short VS young prospects but I think we might see a different outcome this time. Urijah was always in shape and even tho he came short himself in fights that counted the most he still is a veteran with a few tricks up his sleeve. @kid4life

Experience And Knowledge

They say you can't learn an old dog new tricks? Change that, Urijah derailed the hype train in Ricky Simon in the best way possible, in his hometown with a ton of support and it was super cool to see. A Hall of Famer and now a possible title contender once again at 40 years young. The fight started with a fast phase with both guys moving a lot but just less than a minute in this happened. Fastest finish in Faber's career so far and hopefully we will see many more.

Germaine de Randamie vs Aspen Ladd - Bantamweight bout

I'm just gonna call her "GR" because Germaine de Randamie doesn't make the cut on my keyboard. World-Class kickboxing, born and raised in the Netherlands is a 10-time muay-thai world champion. There's even a clip online of her knocking out a guy in a boxing match, yeah that really happened. Aspen Ladd on the other hand, quite an unknown prospect if your not a hardcore MMA fan coming from the US. With only 7 pro-MMA fights until this moment, she did win all of them. Still a huge task against GR who even won the featherweight UFC belt back in 2017.

The very first punch thrown put Aspen Ladd on her butt and even tho it might look like an early stoppage I still think the power of GR would have finished Aspen either way. If Herb Dean wouldn't intervene we might see a little more punishment. It was a night of 1st round finishes for sure!

What do Yall think?
