RE: The Economics of a Mosaic Commission
It is wonderful that steemit has made it possible for we artists to earn from our work in this manner. I do wonder, as we move digitally, how much more we can sell digitally. It seems the next phase.
I used to be a printmaker and moved my artwork digital a few years back mainly due to not finding a good studio space when I was travelling. I found having my entire studio in my bag made it all worth while. Then I found it easier to earn from digital art as well, as I could sell my work as an original in my usual way but also sell prints and my work ON things endlessly, thanks to digital world.
Now, with steemit, though I want to get back into doing some of my real world printmaking as I see I can make it to share on steemit and possibly earn from simply sharing the process and finished piece. It's turning out to be a good time for artists. And I am glad we can support one another on here as well!
Oh and I LOVE your work, by the way, LOVE. The bird piece really moved me as I often use animals in my own work.
Great comment @donnadavisart and thanks for your support! Digital art certainly has a real place and many advantages. My partner who is a painter has been really taken with digital painting and he get's sucked in for hours. I seem to be a hands-on kind of person and find writing on the computer to be deeply satisfying but haven't found other ways to create digitally that ignite my creativity. Yet that is ;-).
I hope that you are able to tap into the support and potential here for your artmaking. I'll go over to your blog and see what you're doing.
