So with the release of the new ten pound note here in the uk today the serial number hunters will be out in full force. New bank notes with low serial numbers are some of the first off the production line and tend to be the most valuble.
As the note celebrates Jane Austen author of sense and sensibility, pride and prejiduce to name a few, there maybe a few more serial numbers to keep an eye on other than just the ones with low serial numbers. Bearing in mind some of these notes could be worth a small fortune it really is worth checking.
16121775 and 18071817 which represent Austens birth and death could be highly collectable.The first One million notes will contain The AA01 prefix and should all be worth at least £50, the lower the number the higher its worth not bad for a tenner :)Another point to make note of, if you have a bunch of notes with consecutive numbers then this will increase these notes value, so say you had AA0112345, AA00112346 and so on.Other notes of interest could be notes with the JA prefix as these are the authors intials but as they will be well down the printing press it is worth noting they probaly will not enter circulation anytime soon.Unfortuantly the most sought after and valuble note, the first off the printing press will not be in circulation as it shall be given to the Queen.
