See beyond the present - a motivational piece by @aquacy

✍ Vision is what bridges the gap between the present and the future; it gives the essence of making sacrifices. The way we see things and the spectacles in which we look through interpret the events of our lives. If there are scratches on our lens we tend to also see that way and that is why Paul prayed that our heart is enlightened; we perceive with our eyes but we see with our hearts. Seeing beyond the present and hoping for a great future depends on our obedience, choices, sacrifices, faith, and decisions we make and take.

In Genesis 12, Abram obeyed God and made a decision to move from Haran to Canan though he was comfortable in Haran; he didn't look at the present. Sometimes the present look very comfortable and pleasing and this affects our choices and decisions, it is sometimes also the negative that makes us want to give up but through it all, let us seek counsel from the Lord before taking a decision today or when making a choice. The decisions and choices we take in the present go a long way to affect or influence the future. Jesus Christ once made a decision to die for mankind and his death has saved many generations.

In Genesis 13:7-13, there was a quarrel between the herdsmen of Abram and Lot and because of this, Lot and Abram had to separate. In choosing where to go, Lot looked at the present and made a decision which led to his doom; the part which was attractive and comfortable was later destroyed. However, the part that looked uncomfortable, unpleasant turned out well in the future because Abram didn't look at the present he believed in the almighty God who was, is and ever able to let the barren become productive; he could have rejected that portion and still fight with Lot but he didn't.

What looked like death in the present become life in the future so it doesn't matter what you see in the present just trust in God because he can turn the tides; He is the author and perfector of our faith and He in us is a hope of glory. Don't trade your future with the comfort of your present; think of the impact the choices and decisions you make and take in the present have on your future. See beyond the present!
