Movie Review on the TV Series, 'YOU'

I recently watched a TV series, "YOU" which i'm extremely pleased with. The TV series, YOU is a psychological thriller starring Penn Badgley as it's lead character, Joe Goldberg. YOU delves into the twisted mind and perspective of Joe. It navigates the audience through the thoughts and narrative of Joe
Joe is a dangerously charming and sadistic man, who would do anything possible to stay in the lives of who he is transfixed by. He shows patterns of obsession and violence throughout the entirety of the series. Some scenes in the movie would show his more compassionate side. The patterns he displays stems from the kind of childhood he had.
The movie is realistic in the sense that it tells the audience that your past will always catch up with you, no matter how hard you try to forget it. You could try to wipe the slate of your past clean but it has a way of bringing your consequences upon you. Just when you think everything is finally going to be right and Joe might be changing for good and you are rooting for him, everything can change in an instant and he gets pushed to the edge and has to repeat old patterns. Even in his search for redemption for his sins, he lost himself. This asserts the fact that to get redemption, you certainly need help and you can't get redemption if you are not ready to face the consequences for your actions.
What i love about the movie is the fact that you wouldn't be able to help getting into the movie and you'll be on the edge of your seat thinking about what might happen next. The uncertainty of the movie is what keeps it thrilling and riveting. Questions like, "How would he extract himself from this mess? How would he get away with this?" Would always pop up on the minds of the audience. It is a riveting movie that will keep you entranced. I highly recommend this movie for people who loves to guess and can deal with the knacks of seeing life through someone's thoughts.
