The night of the Living Dead

A film produced in 1968, directed by George Romero and considered as the movie that started the theme of zombies. Although Night of the Living Dead as it is known in English was also criticized for its violent content.

The mechanical orange

Director Stanley Kubrick left us some cult films, from The Shining to Full Metal Jacket through the unmatched 2001 A Space Odyssey. We focused this time on the masterpiece La Naranja Mecánica, which was an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Anthony Burguess.

This film tells the story of Alex, a violent psychopath who leads a band that performs series of macabre acts.

Rogue at full speed

Better known as The Blues Brothers, it is a cult film, directed by John Landis, in 1980. It tells the story of two cheating brothers and musicians who put on a jazz concert to raise funds. This masterpiece also featured the performances of James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Steven Spielberg, among others.

Blow in Little China

Big Trouble in Little China, is an American film of action and comedy, directed by John Carpenter in the year 1986 and carried out by Kurt Russell. The story presents the battle between a truck driver and his friend against an axis of millennial demons in the Chinatown of San Francisco, with the aim of saving two women destined to become the spouses of a powerful and malevolent magician.

It served as inspiration for the Mortal Kombat series.

Akira

It is adapted from the anime of the same name, created by Katsuhiro Otomo. It has a cyberpunk setting and tells the story of Tetsuo Shima and Shotaro Kameda, two teenagers in a biker gang. It is depicted as a cult movie of the Japanese animation genre.

Inside of the labyrinth

Directed by the deceased Jim Henson in 1986, this work of art had very peculiar characters. The protagonists were Jennifer Connelly and the late David Bowie, who not only acted but also wrote and performed some of the songs for this film. Like many Henson films, most of the characters are played by puppets.

I can’t believe there’s anyone who hasn’t seen the Labyrinth twice! I watch it at least a few times a year!!
