Underrated movies: "Dog Soldiers" - soldiers fighting werewolves!
Another cult action classic by director Neil Marshall (The Descent, Game of Thrones).
The premise is simple: A small squad of British soldiers finds itself on a military drill in the Scottish wilderness.
But soon they find out that a special ops team in that area was devastated, leaving only two survivors.
Maybe there is something more to the gruesome stories they heard about creatures in the wild?
Soon it becomes a fight for survival for the soldiers, who barricade themselves into a cabin, using their conventional weapons to combat the legendary werevolves.
Reading this short synopsys you are certainly not expecting a masterpiece, and indeed this movie is certainly not a realistic depiction of war and is not meant to be taken as seriously as Dunkirk.
The budget for this movie is low and thus the animation of the werewolves comes off as a bit cheap. But if you can put these factors aside, it is certainly a fun movie to watch with decent acting and a lot of action throughout the movie.
After all, who does not like movies about a soldier squad being wiped out by an unknown enemy, akin to Aliens.
If you are looking for a movie to watch after a tough day of work to rewind, make this one of your picks!
