Movies indeed have beautiful ways of lifting our spirits, most especially after a long and stressful day. Oh, it's true that all good things must have an ending, and here we are already ending season 28 of the Steemit engagement challenge. I must confess this season felt like the best!

For movie lovers, ending with "feel-good finale" is just perfect 👌yes this last week is the sweetest part of the challenge.

For this joyful wrap-up, I chose a movie that never fails to make me feel at home, laugh, and smile; it's none other than the Nigerian blockbuster The Wedding Party (2016).

A Little About The Movie:

The wedding party is a film directed by Kemi Adetiba, it's a kind of movie you will watch over and over again without getting bored. It centers on two lovers, Dunni & Dozie's lavish wedding, two opposite families coming together, and then chaos decided to join them as an uninvited guest. 😃

From dramatic parents, especially the women to unexpected secrets and loud laughter. The movie is so real, a perfect mix of romance, comedy, and a typical Nigerian family.

Moments That Made Me Laugh The Most:

Honestly, where do I even start? Is it the rivalry between the bride's mother and the groom's mom? I tell you, it's a pure comedy gold . Their side-eye looks, coded insults, and subtle competition were just too real and funny at the same time.

Sola Sobowale, the groom's mom, was so dramatic that her dramatic reactions alone could cure sadness. She played the role of a typical Nigerian groom's mom perfectly; overprotective of her son Dozie, she believes that no woman is ever good enough for her son. She breathed life into the movie through her exaggerated reaction, sharp tongue, and intense love for her son. I always found myself laughing every time she spoke yes before she even finished her sentence.

The scene of pastor Tony Rapu, who opened the reception ceremony with prayer, was both hilarious and memorable. The prayer was long, intense, and dramatic, leaving some guests restless, including Dozie's Ex when he prayed against the daughter of Jezebel, Dozie's Mom when he prayed against those who are not happy with the marriage, and Dozie's best man when he prayed against bad friends who will give bad advice. Hahaha, it was so funny 🤣 imagine him mentioning holy Ronaldo, gush!

Another scene occurred when the audience rejected the international food and demanded local dishes. The event planner, who carried herself so high, was humbled, hahaha.

The wedding MC, the confused guests, and even behind-the-scenes drama all combined to create moments that made me smile from ear to ear.

Why The Movie Felt Comforting and Joyful:

The movie is truly comforting because it's a mirror of real life. Families are complicated, and Weddings can be so stressful, but most importantly, love is not always smooth.

Despite all the drama, the movie reminded me that life is not that serious, Love, patience, and forgiveness will always win. The bright colors, beautiful outfits, lively music, and familiar Nigerian humor made the movie so real, and it felt like a warm celebration rather than just a film.

Would I Recommend It To Someone Feeling Down?

Without a second thought, my answer is YES! If you're feeling tired, low, or emotionally drained, then this movie is for you! It's like a gentle hug that is mixed with loud laughter. You don't need much emotional energy to watch, it simply invites you to sit down and relax, laugh and forget about your worries for sometime.

How This Movie Improved My Mood and Perspective:

Watching the Wedding Party reminded me not to take life too seriously. Sometimes things can go south on our perfect days, and that's okay. What really matters is how I respond, forgive, and move forward.

My mood was lifted by the end of the movie; I smiled a lot, and my heart became warmer. It helped me to appreciate the joy in imperfections, I mean sometimes that's all we need.

Ending this season with a feel-good finale is so thoughtful! The wedding party captures joy, laughter, culture, and meaningful lessons. This makes it a better choice for this final week.

I'll drop my pen here, I'm grateful for the season, oh the sweetest part indeed comes last.

I'd love to invite some of my amazing friends @x-cool24 @sualeha and @dove11 to join this fun.
