Watch a movie in a genre you usually avoid.
Actually, I avoid the animation genre of movies, but for a contest, I watched the movie Minions. I found the story of the film quite entertaining, and there were several hilarious scenes that provided me with a good amount of fun. I was confused about which animated movie to watch, but after searching online, I understood that this one, released in 2015, is considered one of the good animated movies.

Movie Name: Minions
Release Year: 2015
Genre : Animation
Run Time: 1h 31m
If I briefly share the story of Minions with you, it was quite interesting. The Minions are a kind of yellow creature that grows into various sizes over time. Their main purpose in life is to find and serve the most despicable master. The movie starts by showing that their various masters like Dracula, Napoleon but meet their downfall due to the Minions' silly mistakes, leaving them alone.
Three Minions are in the lead roles in the story are Kevin, Stuart, and Bob. Among the three, Kevin was tall and quite intelligent. According to Kevin’s plan, they reached New York City around 1960 in search of their new villain master. There, they found out about the Villain Con event from a secret TV advertisement, where the world's most dangerous villains showcased their talents.

The three Minions went to the Villain Con event in Florida and saw a villain named Scarlet. She announced that whoever helped her in her work would get to accompany her. In a funny twist, Bob won a task due to a silly mistake, so Scarlet took the three Minions to her castle in London.
There, they met her husband, the villain inventor, who could create many bizarre weapons. Scarlet shared her dream of stealing Queen Elizabeth II’s crown from England with the Minions. To earn her as their master, the Minions went to the Tower of London to steal the crown carrying some of Scarlet's villainous husband’s weapons.
Various hilarious incidents occurred there, and the Minions were almost caught, but once again, due to Bob’s silliness, they managed to steal the crown. However, they pulled out a sword there, which mistakenly led to Bob becoming king. Since Scarlet’s dream was to become the queen, Kevin and Stuart persuaded Bob, and he gave the crown back to Scarlet.

After becoming Queen, Scarlet organized a ceremony. During the event, the Minions accidentally dropped a large chandelier on her. She took this as an attempt on her life and demanded that the Minions be punished. The Minions had to flee through the city streets to save themselves from the other villains.
Stuart and Bob were captured, but Kevin managed to hide. Kevin saw on TV that if he didn't turn himself in, his friends would be killed. So, to save his friends he secretly entered the castle and activated a weapon then Kevin to transform into a giant sized Minion.
The enlarged Kevin walked through the streets, rescued his friends, and faced Scarlet. A missile was launched to destroy the Minions, but Kevin swallowed it. Then Scarlet and her husband flew away using their rocket-powered suits, but Kevin holding onto the suits, was also carried into the sky, and the missile exploded.
Everyone thought they might have died, but a moment later, Kevin hilariously descended from the sky. The real Queen got her crown back and rewarded the Minions with a guitar. Amidst the crowd, a small boy came and stole the Queen’s crown and flew away on a rocket-powered motorcycle. The Minions, upon seeing the boy, realized they had found their new master and chased after him.

Why don’t you usually watch this genre?
I never used to watch animated movies. My perception was that these types of movies are only for children and lack deep emotional resonance. I am particularly a fan of action movies that feature realistic scenes. Animated movies often show unrealistic things and scenarios without much logic, which is why I avoided them.
Furthermore, I felt that animated movies lack the emotional depth seen like live action films I thought they did not possess the kind of nuance and depth of character that other genres offer and I avoided them for that reason. Also, I thought these movies didn't feature real-world topics, so they didn't have much to teach, which led me to skip them.
Did this movie change your mind or confirm your feelings?
The Minions movie largely proved my feelings wrong. I laughed through most of the scenes in this movie and got a lot of entertainment, which shows that entertainment can be found in animated movies besides just the entertainment genre, and they are not exclusively for children.

I also really liked their language. I'm sure anyone of any age would not be able to stop laughing the first time they see the strange language the Minions use to communicate, along with their physical antics and expressions. Having such a brilliant story in an animated movie has significantly changed my opinion of the genre.
What surprised you most about the film?
A few things about the film surprised me. One of the foremost was the Minions' special language because the makers managed to convey what they wanted to say effectively through some bizarre words and their body language. The movie showed several modern weapons that we often only imagine. The scenes where one Minion goes from being small to a giant monstrous size resonated with our thoughts what problems would arise if we were that big.

Another surprising aspect was the attention to detail in the film, which was beautiful. The visual creators showed every detail, including what London looked like in the 1960s. The details of the villain Scarlet's attire caught my eye, which incorporated very modern design, and the visuals of the city streets also surprised me.
Would you try more movies from this genre in the future and why?
In the coming days, I will try to watch more movies from this genre. I feel that only animated movies can create such environments, which cannot be implemented in any other genre. Many ideas are born in our imagination that might be difficult to portray through other genres, but in animated movies, it is possible to see those worlds because there are no limitations on imagination.
The misconception that there can't be emotion in animated movies has been resolved. In the Minions movie, the moments of jumping in to save friends, knowing that one's life might be at risk, and the unity within the Minions community, largely generate a sense of story depth and emotional moments.
Besides, the scenes in this movie were so entertaining that it will undoubtedly be one of the most entertaining movies I have ever watched across all genres. Some scenes were very funny. Since this movie has other series, I hope to find equally hilarious stories in those too.
