Exclusive interview with music band “N2BLU” Release new song “Kiss Me Like The Devil”

Bio:

A truly harmonious collaboration is born with the soul’s recognition of its musical counterpart in another. That’s what N2BLÜ is. In 2016, Jonathan Arceneaux met Konstantin Smorodnikov and the two artists realized about ten minutes into a conversation that spanned the entire night that they both shared an equal passion for similar sounds and ideas in music. That night marked the beginning of their musical partnership.

Both Arceneaux and Smorodnikov had loved music since birth and been performing since shortly thereafter. Arceneaux’ journey led him across a broad spectrum of performance, from church choir to voice training in classical and musical theatre, to writing pop/rock songs in high school in Baton Rouge, to moving to L.A. and working with hitmakers.

But ultimately, he found his place was in New Orleans, where he met his partner. Smorodnikov was born and raised in Kostroma, Russia. As a young man, he fell in love with computer music production. At 18, he moved to the United States, where he performed and absorbed club music, learning all he could about the technical side of production and sound engineering.

N2BLÜ is the synthesis and fusion of each of their unique talents. It is a partnership whose whole is greater than the sum of its parts — a genre-defying blend of pop and dance music, lyrics, and beats. The two have worked feverishly on material and have been indefatigable in honing their craft. They look forward to sharing the fruits of their collaboration.

Where did you get your artist’s name from?

So, our artist's name was partially inspired by the experience of going through the songwriting mentorship process with our mentor, Loren Israel. We feel like the whole experience helped us delve deeper and be more honest and vulnerable in our songs and writing. Deeper into the “Blue” as it were. Blue is also a power color for both of us, so with some creative thinking, we came up with N2BLÜ.

Music-wise what are you working on right now?

We have actually finished our first album, titled “Phoenix Heart”, which will be releasing this summer and we have already started our next album.

Are you currently promoting a single or album?

We are currently promoting our latest single, Kiss Me Like the Devil, which is available on every online music platform along with the lyric video on our YouTube channel. We will actually be releasing our next single, “Again”, and lyric video on April 21, 2020.

Who or what were the most significant influences on your musical life and career?

For me (Jonathan), my biggest influences growing up were Better Than Ezra, Duncan Sheik, and Savage Garden. For Kosta, his biggest influence growing up was DC Talk.

As a musician, what is your definition of success?

I’d say our definition of success is being able to do what we love (making music), being able to share it with the world, and helping other people through our music.
