Tom Waits Reissuing His First 7 Albums
His ’70s Elektra Asylum Records catalog—including debut album Closing Time—are getting new vinyl pressings
Tom Waits has announced that he will be re-issuing his first seven albums. Originally released through Elektra Asylum Records though the ’70s, the LPs getting re-mastered and re-released on vinyl through Anti-. All seven albums will be on streaming services on March 9, the same date that his 1973 debut record Closing Time is available on vinyl. The vinyl versions of the additional six records—Heart of Saturday Night (1974), Nighthawks at the Diner (1975), Small Change (1976), Foreign Affairs (1977), Blue Valentine (1978), and Heartattack & Vine (1980)—will be released throughout 2018. CD versions of all seven are due out March 23.
Back in October, Waits announced a new reissue series of his Anti- Records catalog. Last year, he made a rare live appearance with Mavis Staples
