Why I didn't go see the Tupac MoviesteemCreated with Sketch.

Yesterday was what would have been the iconic rapper's 46th birthday, which is a stark reminder of how young he was when we lost him. As many people of the world, I'm a huge Tupac fan and when I initially heard of the movie, I thought it would be epic!

As anticipation and promotion kicked up closer to the release date, I started thinking since it's still legal, for now. I just wondered who would get all the money since Pac and his Mom are now both deceased? Did he have kids? I know he has siblings, so they should probably bank, right? I don't know.

So, I dug a little deeper as to who produced the movie and the process during filming and production. Needless to say, it was quite fishy.

What I did know from my research, led me to not go see the movie. To my delight, yesterday Jada Pickett Smith expressed her disappointment in the film, along with 50 Cent saying it was bullshit! Not that their opinions are the end all be all, but Jada was a very close friend of Tupac, so yeah.

From the reviews I've heard from peers, it was a very surface based movie. As in all movies, there is embellishment, but if you embellish only on Tupac's surface you are doing any true fan or movie goer a disservice.

If you've seen the movie, what'd you think?

I didn't go because the actor looked like a Chinese ripoff.
