I support my community radio station. Do you?
If not? You should, especially in today's political climate. All hype about "fake news", yet main stream media plays the same tired stories and horrific incidents. So… I decided to write about my favorite community radio station. http://wpfwfm.org/radio/
On a lighter note, not only does WPFW FM have great talk shows led by real professionals that live in D.C. (also known as the district); the music selection is phenomenal. While driving back up to D.C. one weekend I tuned in to Nancy Alonso's Latin Flavor - Salsa Dura Show. I was amazed to hear such great old school salsa live on the radio. Nowadays with pop music becoming more watered down by the minute, it is nice to hear montunos and salsa bands with 10+ saxophones. They also do a great job of naming all the songs and artists.
WPFW FM has everything reggae, jazz, Latin, African, dancehall and oh yeah did I mention U.S. politics. For a real taste of what people that live in Washington D.C. like to listen to and talk about tune in to http://wpfwfm.org/radio/programming/archived-shows No snarky DJs here just volunteers that love music, politics and community outreach😉
