MUSIC STARTUP "AUDIUS" RAISES 5.5 MILLION $
The music startup audius has raised 5.5 million $ as it aims to launch its own blockchain.
That seems to be an alternative of soundcloud or spotify. Audius decribed itself as; "a blockchain based alternative to SoundCloud to help artists connect directly with fans and monetize their work".
HOW WILL IT WORK?
The users will buy audius token or get them via listening to ads and then the users will pay a fraction per song to stream. The revenue it bring to the audius, 85% will go to artist and the rest of it will go to the curators and to the developers. The startup has showed interest in testing its beta service later this year.
CONCLUSION:
In my opinion it will connect artists directly to their fans and the artists will be contributing their songs without the involvment of the middle man. Moreover, the best part is that the won't have any doubts as their contributions will be on blockchain minimize the risk of account shutdown by the third party!.

if this works it will be a great addition to the portfolio of tech coming out of blockchain and crypto developements.
