RE: THE TRUE STORY OF THE DEATH OF KURT COBAIN
This was an excellent read. I grew up a 90s teen & Nirvana changed my musical life forever. The first 27 seconds of Love Buzz still make my brain instantly happy all these years later.
One of my biggest life regrets is declining an opportunity to see Nirvana play in Portland in 1992 or 93. Figured I'd be able to catch them the next time and did something lame instead & I'll forever be kicking my ass for that.
Without the internet back then, I had no idea about so much of this and no clue he'd had so many close calls with death. He was one of the first celebrities I remember crying over & feeling as if the world had lost something beautiful.
I love the part where he's quoted to have said "Where are my friends when I need them?" and "Why are my friends against me?" because it just sounds like him and on a different day could have been the seeds to excellent lyrics.
There sure hasn't been anyone quite like him since. Thanks for the eye-opening read and 90s nostalgia.
Thanks, and great comment. I have similar regrets. Love what you wrote here: "He was one of the first celebrities I remember crying over & feeling as if the world had lost something beautiful." So true.
