Country Music Series - Villans Country Favorites Part 25

Last night was a perfect night to go for a moto ride here in Adelaide. Even though the sun had gone it was still a nice 19 degrees C.
I chucked on a Dark Country mix on spotify and made the most of it.
I love riding my bike and listening to Dark Country, it's such good music to listen to when your tearing up the bitumen.

I will always be a biker at heart.
There is nothing like riding a motorbike, the wind in your face and the fresh air. Nothing can beat the roar of a motorbike when you open it up.
Just as motorbikes will always be a part of me so to will country music. There is something about listening to country music around a bon fire which can't be beat.
I remember when I was a kid we had one big ass bon fire one year. We had a fruit block out to the north of Renmark and one year we got flooded out really bad by a freak storm.
It dumped like 6 inches of rain in about 10 mins, it absolutely went off. Because the ground was so dry from summer time the ground couldn't soak is up and it flooded everything, we were lucky our house was elevated but the fruit block suffered. The fruit trees were ruined for too much water and not being able to get rid of it.

Dad hired a bull dozer and pushed the whole lot into a big pile, the pile of trees and vines was huge. It was about the size of half a football field and over roof height on a single story building. We used it as a playground climbing and jumping over it before it was burned a month later after it dried out.
We had to notify the CFS (Country Fire Service) we were burning it, so they were on stand by in case something went wrong.
Being a young boy I was so excited to see it going, I knew it would be crazy.
When we lit it up the thing was crazy.
When it really got roaring the heat was so intense you had to stand about 100 - 150 meters away, it was too unbearable to stand any closer.
People we knew in Renmark said the sky was glowing looking in the direction of our block.
My uncle, auntie and cousins came over and we had a big feed and listened to music. It was a good night.
I will never forget that, and in the morning the pile of ash was huge, you could have filled up my bedroom with it.

Dark Country is perhaps not the most well known genre of music, you can tell that by the number of views most of the videos I share have. So hopefully I can unite some of you with a new genre of music that I love.
As with all my music series I share, I get some really great feedback.

I have noticed from your previous Country Music Series posts that you included a few tracks from the series Sons of Anarchy. That show had an amazing soundtrack with a few original songs and amazing covers!
I am not sure if you are familiar with folk, but this one is one of my favorites and it has a gothic feel to it. I heard it many years ago, then again on the O Brother, Where Art Thou Soundtrack, but this one, was heard on the show Supernatural. "Oh Death" by Rising Appalachia

☠️ The Nightwatchman - Gone like Rain ☠️

Here is another Dark Country track that I really love.
The Nightwatchman is another American artist that I enjoy. You might know him by his name Tom Morello who was the guitarist from Rage Against the Machine.
He is a solo performer and multi instrumentalist who plays a range of instruments, one of them is the harmonica which is one of my favorite instruments.
I really like the way he sings this track, which is more like he is telling a story. He has a great voice which really suits the song.

☠️ The Sheepdogs - Slim Pickens ☠️

Here is another track that I really like.
That guitar riff sounds so good, really makes you want to go crazy and party hard with the energy that comes from it.
I like this track also because is has no lyrics, I think sometimes it's nice to hear a track with no lyrics and let the instruments do the talking.
This is another track which featured in The Sons of Anarchy TV series.

☠️ Buffalo Fuzz - Locked and Loaded ☠️

I really love this track from Buffalo Fuzz.
I love the way the track starts off, has such a good sound and rhythm to it.
The song has a real rock feel to it.
I love the lyrics which have been used for this track too, nice and dark :)

I've had it bad for such a dangerous one
her kind–so fine
a whole mess of fun
but disguise and shiny lies
conceal her motive
