"Spiders"
is a song from the band's first album System of a down. It is also included in the soundtrack of the movie Scream 3 ("The Scream 3"). The lyrics of the song are by Serj Tankian and the music by Daron Malakian.
This song, like many others in this group, was written in the key of C minor. "Spiders" uses a 4/4 beat in a slow rhythm, in addition to employing drum roll and syncopation in the verses. The rhythm of the music can be described as haunting, sad and sinister. Serj Tankian's voice is low and melodic in the verses, while in the choruses it is more energetic and slightly sharper as well. The introduction of the song in a minor key is the melody that rules the rest of the song. After the second chorus, Daron Malakian performs a guitar solo that creates an "atmosphere" of tension. The song ends with a soft version of the introduction.
