Daily Tunes #1: Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z featuring Alicia Keys
Welcome to a new series of daily posts brought to you by "My Mind is on Music." The plan? To post at least one song each weekday. Weekends will be optional.
🎙️ Why I chose this track
The song has a special place in the hearts of New Yorkers from that era. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of Jay-Z, but this song does it for me. Although I would say his calling himself "the new Sinatra" is a bit off. Honestly, it's probably Alicia Keys' beautiful voice that makes this song remembered the way it is.
