Song of the Day: Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver
Daily Tunes #2: Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver
🎙️ Why I chose this track
Anthem of belonging. My dad absolutely LOVED this song and passed that on to me as a child. Even though we weren't from West Virginia, we did live in Virginia, and when you're young, you associate things differently. The song reminds me of my dad.

Another fun fact: The first concert I ever remember going to was John Denver, at The Spectrum in Philadelphia. I was probably about 7 or 8 years old and slept through most of it. ;-)
Interesting, my dad talked about seeing him in concert, but I'm pretty sure I wasn't alive yet. My 6 or 7-year-old memory is of watching Footloose at the drive-in theatre (that should tell my age).
I've got you by about 10 years, then. I was somewhere around 16 for Footloose.
According to Brave Leo, John Denver played in the Spectrum in '74, 76,' 78, and '82. I'm pretty sure the concert I remember wasn't in '82, but I guess it could've been any of the others.
