Usually neutrinos blow everything out.

Own report: Science always gives us new things. Human civilization is enriched by that gift.

Simple Russia is a step towards that progress. They set up a telescope deep in Lake Baikal. The purpose is to capture the existence of a particular particle (elusive subatomic particles).

The name of the telescope is 'Baikal-GVD'. The reason for placing the telescope under the deep water of the lake is to find a special kind of tiny particles in the universe. The particle is fairly familiar. The name is 'neutrino'. (detecting neutrinos) The particle is massless like a photon. At the same speed as a particle of light. But there is also a difference. The path of light particles is curved. Neutrinos are not. Out of the source they run the same way. So many mysteries of this universe can be traced along their path. Russia's initiative is aimed at that effort.

Neutrinos are hard to reach. Because usually neutrinos blow everything out (pass right through matter without leaving trace). There is no way they can be caught. However, some neutrinos can be reached. He has to work a little. You have to go to a remote point in a natural way. Such as thick ice sheets. Deep water level. If the neutrinos can be touched by the water of the afternoon, then the door of some unknown mystery in this world may be opened.

Incidentally, there is another such telescope in Antarctica. His name is 'Icecube'. It is kept in America.
