Agricultural Activities Day | 28 February 2026 | "Potato collection, sorting, bagging and selling"
Yesterday we could not finish harvesting the potatoes of the Ayamads, but today we have taken all the potatoes out of the ground with the help of the plow, now we just have to do it in the extane. Today the workers will be more busy because after harvesting these potatoes, we have to bag them and weigh them and take them to the road. In the morning I went to the potato field and it was wet all night. We had kept the potatoes for soaking in the winter.
Next to the potato field, there is a pond where fish fry are grown. Even today, fish fry are being raised from that pond. I like to watch and catch fish. I saw them fishing for some time. Even today, many fish farmers are coming to get the fish fry. They are lifting the fish fry and weighing them. Or, if fish fry traders come, they have made a large space in the net for them so that the traders can deliver them quickly.
Today there are 18 workers and they are coming in the morning. We have started picking potatoes. As soon as the first potato picking is finished, the traders have brought their sacks. We have to fill these sacks with our workers. Before the potatoes are finished being stacked into small pieces, the wholesalers are sending the sacks.
I and a worker are spreading a sack among the small piles of potatoes and picking the potatoes out of it. Before filling the sacks with potatoes, they will sort out the potatoes that are cut, stained, and cut by the plow. The sorting work is called shooting. The workers sent by the wholesaler will do the sorting work. After they sort, we will fill the sorted potatoes in the sacks. We have started filling the potatoes in the sacks and filled the potatoes in the sacks until noon.
I will weigh the potato sacks at 72 kg. My brother was with them to weigh them and was weighing each sack equally on a digital scale. The rest of the wholesale workers are sewing the front of the sacks. Once the sacks are sewn, they will have to be taken to the road. Since there is someone else's land in the middle of our land, a van cannot go to a field, so two workers are taking those sacks to the road with the help of bicycle tires.
Our workers are picking up the sorted, scarred, and discarded potatoes in our sacks, which we will feed to our cows. We will take the sacks by the roadside to the side of the road in a van. The van is actually our male workers loading the van and pushing the van to take the sacks of potatoes to the road
We have been bringing all the sacks of potatoes to the side of the road until the afternoon. We have 117 sacks of potatoes from 100 acres of land, each sack weighing 72 kg. At night, the wholesaler sends their van to take the sacks of potatoes. They are coming with 10 vans and loading the sacks of potatoes to take away. I was there because I was there to understand the account of the sacks. I stayed there until 9 pm and explained the calculations and came home. My body, tired from the whole day, ate dinner and went to sleep.

I am grateful for sharing your beautiful experience in this beautiful rural life. But this time the light yield has been much better. This natural environment of the village, the beautiful open weather, is part of human life. But thank you for sharing the joy of fishing and the joy of potato harvesting. I really like such a rural environment.
