Don't farm with only passion, Farm with Planning

Running a farm is very different from imagining counting your harvesting and seeing your profits. That's what a lot of people that don't have experience in farming do. They seem how much harvest they can get and think that that's how much money they'll make so they enter the farming business with so much passion.

Passionate farming alone will almost always end you up in financial troubles especially when you overlook studying the markets.

You really need to change the approach and focus on how you're going to be managing cash flow if you want to have successful farming business. So you'll need to think about how you'll manage the logistics of the harvested crop, how you'll minimize losses should in case something you didn't forsee happens to you which in agriculture it happens a lot, and how you'll be adding value to the crops to keep them marketable even out of season.

The problem comes when the crops are grown without considering some of these problems whicg are very real. Trying to using an already existing market gaps as your main reason to grow a particular crops will eventually bring an oversupply situation if there's more people seeing that "oh, this crop makes money".

Always remember that if it's good technique, others will be using the same technique, so eventually if you know about economics and sales, it'll be lowered prices.

Making profits comes with creating systems that ensure regular harvest seasons. So try to add value to yours.
