The good things inside Grape leaves

I checked out some grapes yesterday and I was taught by a dear old lady who has so much experience with grape farming, more about the leaves of the grapes and what we use them for.

I haven't planted grapes yet, although I've planted some fruits like mango, watermelon, and some crops like cassava, lettuce, pepper and onions, I'm really looking forward to start a grapes farm. Maybe I'll start with 10.

The reason I really want to do this is because of how valuable the leaves really are.

We usually only look at the fruit when we think about grapes farming but the leaves is the part of the grapes that actually stays in the garden and if only you knew the health benefits of it, you would start harvest them as well.

The leaves are very valuable because they have plenty of antioxidants which is going to help our body fight against some diseases causing agents and stop too much swelling in the body.

It's something you can add to your food. I didn't ask whether we could eat it alone because that sounds and would look weird. After all, I'm not a sheep or a goat.

It's also very good for your heart because of the way it helps you manage proper blood flow in the body.

This may not be a medical advice but she did say that for the diabetic patience, it's good for controlling the sugar levels in the blood. I did not argue with that but what I could add as my own rebuttal is that, if you take too much sugar and you eat these leaves or any other thing that promises sugar levels control, it won't magically take all the sugar out of your body so you need the self discipline to control your diet.

Which she really meant was how it can keep your sugar levels stable after a meal, because some meals that are packed with more sugar can give you an instant glucose spike in the body which is never healthy.

I also learned yesterday that apparently, it's a form of preservative. The grape leaves can stop some bad bacteria from growing so if you see someone wrapping their food with them, they probably already knew the benefit.

So the leaves would be a cover to your food and add some nice taste to it as well.

So if you have grown grapes, instead of throwing the leaves away or you can use them for all these purposes. If you don't want to do it that way, at least leave them to decompose I'm the farm, it's better.
