Bangladesh is a country full of natural beauty. Various types of flowers bloom in the rivers, canals, ponds and water bodies of this country. Among these flowers, the water lily is one of them. The water lily is the national flower of Bangladesh. Therefore, the water lily is a symbol of special dignity for the people of Bangladesh.
Water lilies usually grow in ponds, ponds, haors and other water bodies. During the rainy season, white water lilies bloom among the green leaves floating on the water. With white petals, yellow petals and long stems, water lilies are very beautiful to look at. When many water lilies bloom together in the water bodies of rural Bengal, the beauty of nature increases even more.
During this lockdown, I went to the water to pick water lilies. This time, due to the lack of monsoon, there was not much water in the water bodies, but still, it seems that water lilies are blooming in a small amount of water. My eyes watered when I saw them. I could not control myself anymore. I went down to the water to pick water lilies. When I was pulling each water lily plant, it felt like I had returned to my childhood.
So many memories here. When I was a child, I would gather with my friends to pick water lilies. As soon as I saw water lilies, I would jump into the water. As I grew up, those memories seemed to have disappeared. This water lily flower enhances the beauty of our nature. There is a different joy in picking water lilies. Which cannot be understood unless you appreciate it.
Water lilies are not only beautiful to look at, but they also have a deep connection with the rural life and culture of Bangladesh. The stalk and other parts of water lilies are used as food in many areas. Water lilies are also present in the national symbol of Bangladesh. As a result, water lilies are an important part of our national identity.
Currently, due to filling of water bodies, water pollution and various changes in the environment, the natural habitat of water lilies is decreasing in many places. Therefore, we need to preserve water bodies and the environment to protect aquatic plants including water lilies.
Finally, water lilies are not just a flower; they are a symbol of Bangladesh's nature, beauty and national identity. It is the responsibility of every citizen to love and preserve our national flower, water lilies.
