California, Tahoe lake: Tahoe Donner trail
September is one of my favorite month to spend time in Tahoe! Temperature is perfect for hiking and falls is starting but we are not completely in it.
Near Truckee are some great trails to hike and Donner ridge trail was the hike done yesterday. It is a 14.9 miles hike with 2148 elevation which give you an amazing view over Truckee valley and Donner lake.
This weekend we felt that winter is not far! Temperature dropped down this week and first snow came down last week!!
During that day hike, my capture of the day was that caterpillar crossing the trail. Checked out and it is a Spotted Tussock Moth Caterpillar, Lophocampa maculata, formerly Halisidota maculata (bless you)
