Lake Gunn Nature Walk - New Zealand
One of the most popular tourist destination in New Zealand is Milford Sound where you can hop on a boat and cruise along the fiord. It is definitely a must do.
However, there are other beautiful places on the way and one of them is Lake Gunn with its nature walk.
I love walking in nature. For me, it's a way to relax and clear my mind, not to mention exercise the body a little bit.
At the end of our boat cruise in Mildford Sound, my family and I decided that we wanted to have a nice walk. After a bit of research online, we found good recommendations for the 45-minute walk at Lake Gunn. We drove ourselves to the huge parking area and started to follow the trail.
I was really astonished by the landscape in front of me. The gloomy, windy and cold day added to the eerie yet enchanted feeling of the forest. We walked on the clearly defined path along trees covered in moss and ferns. The colors were just amazing and I couldn't help taking pictures trying to capture the moment as much as I could. Eventually, we reached the lake but we quickly turned around mostly because of the very cold wind but also because it wasn't as stunning as the forest.
Enough talking, here are some of my pictures.
