The most beautiful animal / Siproeta epaphus
Well, after grappling with a dilemma of existential questions and standards of beauty, I chose the Siproeta epaphus butterfly for this showcase. This is a species of butterfly I saw in one of the many gardens along the public streets of the City of Eternal Spring, Medellín. “How beautiful!” I thought when I saw that butterfly—large, with striking colors, and unknown to me.
I was with my youngest son, who was accompanying me to the supermarket. As soon as I saw it, I stopped to take pictures, but it was very restless, fluttering all over some flowers. It was so hard to focus on it with my phone’s camera, but I persisted because I was struck by the beauty of that butterfly, which looked very exotic to me.
It was really hard to get good photos, but I tried to get a few decent ones, because she just wouldn't stay still
