There are many small and large ponds in almost every village of our country. In some areas, very large ponds can be seen. Everyone likes to spend time sitting on the banks of ponds. I had seen several large ponds in Bogra district. I have been fortunate enough to spend time sitting on the banks of those ponds in the afternoon several times. The pond that you can see here is located seven kilometers away from Gabtoli Upazila of Bogra district.

I came to know through one of my elder brothers that there is such a big pond. All the people of the area know this pond as Battala Pond. There is a banyan tree next to the pond. So I want to go there to see this pond. We take an autorickshaw from Gabtali and leave for this pond. We have to get down from the autorickshaw one kilometer away from this pond. Because then there was a dirt road. And because it had rained for a few days, the whole road was covered in mud.

There were no houses around this pond. So the pond looked very beautiful. It had rained a lot in this area for a few days. When we were there, it was raining. The water of this pond is very clean. A house has been built on the bank of the pond to keep watch. Due to the rain, we stayed in that house for 1 hour. I saw some dead fish floating in the pond. In the afternoon, many people come here to spend time. The area of ​​this pond is about 21 bighas. A boat was moored on the bank. I wanted to go around in a boat but due to the rain, that was not possible. I came to know that there were many trees on the bank of the pond earlier. But due to the bank breaking, all the trees have now gone into the river.

I saw some tree trunks there. The trunks are still in the pond. All in all, I liked this pond a lot. Any person who comes here will feel better. There is no sound of cars anywhere in such a rural environment. I had a great time there.
