Needlework Monday - making a nice outfit for my sis
Hy steemians Hope you all had a nice weekend.
Well i actually used mine to make a nice dress for my sister. And no doubt, she liked it.
This was is the top i sewed for her
Below are the procedures
, I Measure a piece of cloth of at least 6 inch. I measured from her shoulder with a tape and i added an allowance of 3 inch to it where it going be joined. it will be joined 1/1/2.
Second part, i measure an allowance of of 1⅔ inch. I joined it with 1/2 inch. Based on the chalk line, i cut out the part for the armpit so that the armpit won't be too tight for her to wear.
The lower piece of the material, i measured the length from the waist to cover the hip. Then i folded the material in a triangular format, then i measured the waist.
After cutting and sewing the pieces. i finally arrived at this:
It wasn't really perfect at first but with some adjustments, it was ready to wear. I feel happy for this
Happy needle work everyone. Thank for reading my post.
It looks great, @light1, and your sister looks very pleased with it :)
Did you use a commercial pattern or did you design it?
A beautiful dress you made. The colours are very bold, but suit your sister perfectly. I especially love the hem of this dress.
Happy needlework monday!
Awwn thanks you

We love seeing a project come to life so I really appreciate you sharing the process of this beautiful top that you made for your sister. I really love the fabric and colors and I love how you made the bottom to flare out right above her waist. She really looks darling in it! 😊
I’m curious to know if this was your own design as well.
Thank you so much for sharing with us this week. I hope you find the time to get around to viewing some of the other needlework post and meeting some other talented Steemians!! Looking forward
to seeing more of your work~
Thank you so much @crosheille.. I appreciate your comment on my blog.. the design is partly mine because i got a little help from my colleague who is also good as well.. I also look forward to see other steemians work and learn from it as well

The first thing I thought when I read this post was "wow, another @wondermaey who can work clothing magic!!" :)
Lol! Yeah the dress is beautiful! And she wore it well.
Hi. Very beautiful, and the color is beautiful. regards
Your sister is gorgeous, and she looks pretty happy with her lovely new top! That blue fabric is so pretty, I love the bold shade of it. Nice work!
You did a beautiful job and you were very informative when it came to your procedure. It looks great on her, too. How special it is to be able to make something a loved one can wear and cherish.
I have a question for you, @light1 ~ how do you know how what to adjust your seam allowance to as you go along? Just curious why you chose the allowances you did/ how you know to adjust them accordingly.
