The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam has praised the dates as the (best) meal, he sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said:

نعم سحور المؤمن التمر
ㅤ
"The good of the believers is the date palm." (1)
ㅤ
Anyone who does not have dates or other food, then let him try to drink although only drink a sip of water, as mentioned in the hadith Abu Said al-Khudri radiallhuanhu he said, Rasulullah sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam said:

السحور كله بركة, فلا تدعوه, ولو أن يجرع أحدكم جرعة من ماء, فإن الله عز وجل
ㅤ
وملائكته يصلون على المتسحرين.
ㅤ
"Sahur is the whole is the barakah, so do not you leave, even if one of you just drank a sip of water. Verily Allah and His Angels Pray for those who perform the duties. "(2)
